Alec Gray grew and bred miniature daffodils for well over thirty years at his daffodil farm near Camborne in Cornwall. In that time, he was responsible for the introduction of many new hybrids, and in 1945 was awarded the Peter Barr Memorial Cup by the Royal Horticultural Society for his work on the breeding of miniature daffodils. His book, Miniature Daffodils, was published in 1955.
